HAVEN Training Restaurant
Vision
HAVEN is a sanctuary for young adult orphans who have to leave the orphanage and would end up on the streets. HAVEN reintegrates them into society, offers them accommodation, food, medical treatment as well as a place to work and a training in gastronomy. After they finish their training HAVEN will help them find a permanent position.
Apprenticeship
The training is planned for a period of one year. The trainees visit the HAVEN vocational school and work at the HAVEN restaurant. The trainees shall acquire excellent skills in gastronomy and also learn English.
When a training year can't be filled with young adults from orphanages, other disadvantaged young adults will be accepted to the program.
Budget
Based on our principle to help others help themselves, all our measures for HAVEN are to become self-supporting within 2-3 years - whereupon the project can grow on its own strength and in the long term is no longer reliant on donations.

With your donations we could already build up the whole restaurant and classroom and buy the required equipment. Now we need to get HAVEN through the starting phase. Your donation now enables us to pay
- the rent for the premises
- for the school supplies and teachers
- to rent for the trainees accommodations
- the salary for our trainees, teachers and permanent employees
Paul & Sara are in Siem Reap since April 2011. They oversaw the whole construction and are now managing and administrating HAVEN and are teaching the trainees in theorie and praxis. Furthermore they are responsible for the supervision of the young adults. They're taking care of the marketing and the publication of the restaurant and are making sure that every guest that comes knows that by eating/drinking something at HAVEN they are supporting a good project.
